"Virginia"
Playing insane amounts of board games
and watching videos helped pass the time, but the drive from
Minnesota to
Virginia was long. But it was so worth it. The Virginia track was
pretty smooth and fast. I liked how the jumps were spaced out and
shaped, especially the "tunnel" jump and the double doubles. We
made huge adjustments to my Motowoz shocks based on how smooth the
track looked and felt. I can't believe how different you can make
your shocks work and feel without changing any parts. I definitely
need to start taking advantages of the adjustments more often. I am
still getting use to how much faster I can drive through rough
sections now. I wish I would have pushed myself a little harder,
but all in all it was a good weekend. Kentucky still remains my
favorite track, but I'm going to keep steaming forward. See you at
the races- Jake

"Kentucky
Bound"
The drive went by fast as my
Mom and Dad drove
through the night to reach
Bowling Green. We woke up in the Sam's Club parking lot and met
all my friends. There was so much rain the night before, they had
delayed practice
on Friday till noon. Even then, I only went out the last round
of practice. The whole weekend was sunny and warm. The track was tacky
and rough come race day, and has become my favorite track so far.
Sunday's racing proved to be a really fast track. Got two holeshot's
from my two classes, one in the 70 Mod and the other in the 90 Mod. I
had a lot of fun with Bubba on the line, waiting for my 90 Mod - 2nd
moto. I'm real happy with the way that I rode, and pushed myself to
ride faster. Had a mishap with the 70 mod 2nd moto, blew out the
bearing carrier and had a DNF. I enjoy driving with my Dad and talking
about the weekend. I fall asleep and then we're home. I really liked
my trip to Kentucky....see ya' again real soon. Until then, ride hard
and be safe -- Jake |

"Focused Now"
"I knew the fun was about to start for the year when we
were stocking the camper with racing stuff. I slept most of the way
to the first round of racing at Pell City as we drove all night.
Waking up to familiar faces from around the USA is what makes
national Quad MX racing fun. The track was fun, but the racing was
intense which showed my competitors meant business this year. I
didn't quite place where I wanted to, so I can see clearly now that
I need to train harder and longer between rounds. A national
championship is what I plan on bringing us home." --
